Alto Adige has a very special wine-growing climate. In the south it is almost Mediterranean, while in the north the mountain slopes create a much cooler environment. It’s no surprise that many different grape varieties find their ideal terroir here. In the particularly cool areas, Kerner and Sylvaner thrive, while the warm Bolzano basin provides the perfect home for Lagrein. But all these wines share one common trait: the interplay of warm days and cool nights gives them a distinctive freshness, making them true Alto Adige classics.
