Praepositus is Latin for provost or prior. We have chosen this name for our finest wines, dedicating them to the 58 abbots who have led Abbazia di Novacella since its founding in the distant year 1142. Only the best of the best goes into these bottles. Grapes from unique vineyard sites, low yields, and long ripening periods ensure not only exceptional quality but also remarkable aging potential.
